标题: 英文版的《红楼梦》
前几天，王院长在课上说，希望有一天能有人把中国的古典名著翻译成英文，让我们的文化也走向世界。我在图书馆看书时，无意间看到了几句比较经典的翻译。
　　现摘抄几句，供大家欣赏一下。

　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　比灵通金莺半含酸　　探宝钗黛玉半含酸
　　闲言少述，且说宝玉来至梨香院中，先进薛姨妈室中来，正见薛姨妈打点针～与丫鬟们呢。宝玉忙请了安，薛姨妈一把拉住，抱入怀中，笑说：“这么冷天，我的儿，难为你想者来！快上炕来坐着罢。”命人沏滚滚的茶来。宝玉因问：“哥哥没在家吗？”薛姨妈叹到：“他是没笼头的马，天天忙不了，哪里肯在家一日。”宝玉问道：“姐姐可大安了？”薛姨妈道：“可是呢，你前儿又想着打发人来瞧他。他在里间不是，你去瞧，他那里比这里暖和，你那里坐着，我收拾收拾就进去和你说话儿。”

But enough of this digression. On reaching Pear Fragrance Court, Pao-yu went first to see Anut Hsueh, whom he found distinguishing sewing to her maids. He paid his respects to his aunt, who caught him in her arms and hugged him.
"How good of you to come, dear boy, on a cold day like this." She beamed."But get up here quickly on the warm kang." She ordered hot tea to be served.
"Is Cousin Pan at home?" Asked Pao-yu.
"Ah, he is like a horse without a halter,"she sighed,"He's for ever rushing about outside. Not a day does he spend at home."
"Is Pao-chai better?"
"Yes, thank you .It was thoughtful of you to send over to ask how she was the other day.She' s in her room now. Why not go in and see her? It's warmmer there. Go and keep her company and I'll jion you as soon as I'm though here."

　　太长了，我只选了一小部分，大家觉得怎么样啊？
　　我觉得确实是大打折扣，整体感觉很西化。开头的每章回的回目都没翻译出韵味来，中间也有很多连中国人看了都会感觉晕的。就象王院长说的，名字也不好翻译，这篇直接就给音译了。还有里面的“炕”，　直接翻译成“warmmer kang" 外国人能看懂吗？可惜了中国的文化就被埋藏在国内广阔的土地上，走不出去啊！

不过，也有翻译的很成功的，不仅压韵，而且意境也好。
　
例：秋风不相待，先到洛阳城
　　The winds of autumn they wait not for me
   But hurry on thither where i would be

   海上生明月，天涯共此时
　　The moon is borne so bright above the sea,
   and bathes at once the distant one and me.
　　　
　　离离原上草，一岁一枯荣。野火烧不尽，春风吹又生。
　　There's a vast expanse of grass on the plain,
   It grows up and withers every year.
   The wild fire tries to destroy it in vain,
   When the verna breeze blows, it comes to life again everywhere.

　　还记得在新东方上课时，讲翻译的老师写了几句《离骚》的译文，说是国内最著名的翻译家译，当时就就感叹能把离骚翻译的这么好，真是厉害啊。不过现在都忘了，只记得中文是“路漫漫其修远兮，我将上下而求索。”为了压韵，译文的每句都加了一个语气词"Oh"。
　　
　　翻译成功的确实不少，还有很多例子，就不列举了。书是刚借的，感兴趣的同学可以看看啊。
　　不过，要把四大名著译好，的确很困难，有兴趣的同学可以尝试一下啊，呵呵。
